Description
Established in 1959, Petros & Ioannis Voulistiotis O.E. is a historic, family-owned olive mill in Preveza, Greece. Spanning three generations, the family has successfully evolved from an ancestral stone press into a state-of-the-art facility. Today, they combine decades of heritage with modern agricultural science to process local olives into premium extra virgin olive oil.
Production Area
The modern mill is situated in Oropos (Louros), Preveza, within the Epirus region. It serves as a vital hub for local olive growers, processing crops that thrive in the coastal climate, mineral-rich soils, and unique environmental conditions surrounding the Ionian Sea and the Amvrakikos Gulf.
Harvest and Transport
Grounded in a deep respect for the raw material, the company handles locally harvested olives, including the robust Koroneiki and the indigenous, historic Lianolia Prevezas. The fruit is collected at optimal ripeness and transported promptly in aerated crates to ensure pristine condition before milling
Oil Management
The facility features an advanced, eco-friendly 2-phase cold-extraction system. Processing temperatures are strictly kept low during malaxation to protect fragile aromas. The fresh oil is stored in temperature-regulated stainless steel tanks, shielded from light and air to seal in its nutritional profile.
Comments
A highly respected name in the region, celebrated for its meticulous quality control, efficiency, and dedication to preserving the authentic, vibrant flavor and rich health-protective polyphenols of Preveza’s olive heritage.
