Company Information
Description
Established in 2012, Paragaea is a premier cultural and gastronomic center born from the meticulous restoration of Parga's very first mechanical olive oil factory (originally operating until 1974). Driven by a deep passion for local heritage, the enterprise functions as both an award-winning boutique producer and an interactive museum. They masterfully blend time-honored traditions with modern, sustainable techniques to showcase the best of Greek culinary culture.
Production Area
Located in the historic, coastal town of Parga within the Preveza regional unit of Epirus, Greece. The company sources its premium yield from its own dedicated olive groves that thrive in the unique Ionian microclimate, characterized by coastal sea breezes and sun-drenched hillsides.
Harvest and Transport
Adhering to strict eco-friendly philosophies, olives are harvested at the absolute peak of quality from family-tended groves. The fruit is carefully gathered using traditional, gentle methods to minimize bruising, and immediately loaded into aerated crates. Rapid transit from the fields directly to the modern mill ensures minimal oxidation and maintains absolute freshness.
Oil Management
Freshly harvested olives undergo immediate mechanical cold-extraction to preserve volatile aroma compounds, natural antioxidants, and essential nutrients. The extra virgin olive oil is stored under strict temperature and atmospheric controls before bottling. Alongside standard oils, they craft gourmet, naturally infused varieties, including citrus and oregano-flavored selections.
Comments
Highly acclaimed on the global stage with multiple NYIOOC and EVO IOOC Gold Awards, Paragaea is equally famous for its vibrant cultural experiences—offering educational factory tours, expert-led olive oil tastings, regional wine pairings, and traditional cooking workshops.
