AGRONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS:
This cultivar is propagated through mass selection
from seedlings of the Frantoio variety. Favolosa (FS-17) is an olive tree that thrives even in
dry soils, requiring minimal irrigation. Therefore, it adapts well to various climates, as long
as they are not excessively cold or hot—since it is sensitive to frost and lack of water.
Thanks to its peculiarities, the cultivar ensures low management costs, early harvests,
and high productivity. One of its strengths is the rapid growth and early fruit ripening. From
the second year, it shows a significant increase in yield, reaching optimal and consistent
production levels by the fourth year. Favolosa is suitable for both high-
density and traditional plantation systems, delivering excellent yields across different
planting layouts.
